Our Story

Serving the public since 1969 with Chicagoland’s Finest Quality, Fast Service, at the lowest possible price. Specializing in Grecian Chicken, Pollo Mex Asado, B.B.Q. Rib Tips, Gyros, Italian Beef and Greek Salad. Same owners from the beginning. 


This Amazing Adventure started with an idea from a man named Jimmy Marneris. Jimmy was 20 years old when he moved to the United States with the idea of opening a restaurant in order to bring his family to the United States from Greece.

Nicky’s name comes after Jimmy’s father, Nicky Marneris and the unique Greek chicken comes from his Mother Angie. Her chicken was well-known throughout the small village, located just outside of Tripoli, Greece. She enjoyed making the chicken for anyone who requested it.

Jimmy enjoys giving his customers top quality food for an affordable price, since 1969. He has high standards for the food that comes out the kitchen and always chooses the freshest ingredients. Many ingredients on their menu are imported directly from Greece.

The restaurant has passed from generation to generation, always with the same purpose of filling with joy and bringing a piece of our Greek culture to homes in Chicagoland.

Our Food Policy

We have heard a lot of complaints about the quality of food and overall service of those “other places”, which gave us a reason to explain that we have no affiliation with any other Nicky’s establishments. We have decided to change our business name to Nicky’s The Real McCoy to avoid future misunderstandings.

Nicky’s is more that just a restaurant, here you can find the passion of a family, exemplary service, quality food, integrity, family hospitality, and innovation.
